Make Sure to Get a Good Accountant
Published: May 12, 2012When you own your own business, it is very important to have a great accountant. That was a lesson that I learned last year, and it was a very hard lesson. I had my own business for the last five years, and as far as I knew everything was going just fine. Two years ago I ended up getting audited by the government, and they found a lot of mistakes that my accountant had made. I ended up having to pay the government back to $5000. I told my accountant about the mistakes that she had made, and she told me that there was nothing that she could do about it. I decided two fire my accountant, and I went out to different Sacramento Accounting firms. I was able to find a very good group of accountants that offered very good solid work, and I began to let them look through my taxes. They ended up correcting a lot of the mistakes that my accountant had made, and I knew that I could put my trust in them from now on. My example with one bad accountant proves that if you own your own business, it is very important to get a good honest accountant.
